Trumpeters of His Imperial Majesty's Own Convoy on horseback, 1892

Caption
"Cavaliers de la garde. Trompettes de l'Escorte personnelle du Tzar" — the Convoy's trumpeters on horseback. Saddles with galloon-trimmed saddle-cloths, Caucasian bridles with metal fittings and stirrups are clearly visible. These are lower ranks; who made their saddles is not known. Album "Armée russe, 1892", photographs by E. and F. de Jongh; BnF, sheet G 138387. N. V. Galushkin writes, without giving a date, that the Convoy officers' saddles were supplied by the Batalpashinskaya Cossack Kalaushin [Galushkin 1961, p. 143, note 24].
