The family of Dzhalal Suleimanov, 1934
The family of Rukizhat (Lyubov) Dzhalalovna Suleimanova, later the wife of S. S. Geichenko; she is in the third row, left, with her father Dzhalal and mother Shamai in the second row; photograph of 1934. Dzhalal, a Lak from Kazi-Kumukh, had been a jeweller and armourer in Kutaisi "since before the Revolution". According to the Kalaushin family account, Matvei Alekseevich obtained Damascus steel "through Suleimanov, the father of Geichenko's wife" [Abdurakhmanova, Pskovskaya Gubernia, 2013, No. 10 (632); Roster of A. B. Kalaushin, no. 71].
