Caption
"At the end of his six-month term the Emperor would present His orderly with a gold watch bearing the state arms." Gold watches were a customary imperial gift to Convoy NCOs; in the family account, too, Fedot Alekseevich was promised a gold watch that never reached him [Galushkin 1961, p. 151; Roster of A. B. Kalaushin, no. 73].
