At the 16th All-Russian Industrial and Art Exhibition a bronze medal for leather goods went to “Kalaushin, Fedot Alekseyevich, uryadnik, and Kalaushin, Mikhail Alekseyevich, and Fisenko, Ivan Mikhailovich, Cossacks, in St Petersburg”, and an honourable mention to “Kalaushin, Matvey Alekseyevich, uryadnik, in Yekaterinodar”.

The Archduke in the uniform of a Russian regiment

In August 1896 Archduke Franz Ferdinand, honorary chief of the Russian 26th Bug Dragoon Regiment since 1891, met Nicholas II at the Vienna station in the uniform of his Russian regiment; at the doors of the imperial carriage, the newspapers wrote, stood “Circassians in bright red uniform” — △ the name they gave to Convoy Cossacks in scarlet cherkeskas.
