Matvey Matveyevich Kalaushin
Матвей Матвеевич Калаушин23 July (5 August) 1904 – 10 December 1968
Pushkin scholar and museum-maker: head of the Literary Museum of Pushkin House and, during the Siege, acting commandant of the institute; from 1934 he oversaw the Pushkin Reserve on behalf of Pushkin House and in 1945 recommended S.S. Geychenko as its director. On 10 June 1949 he took part in opening the museum in the Alexander Palace, and in 1953–1965 he was the first director of the All-Union Pushkin Museum.
